Jack C. Carmichael, P.E. Scholarship Program

Here’s a “member benefit” we ALL should be taking advantage of. Do you have a family member who is eligible to receive a TxSWANA scholarship? The Chapter awarded $10,000 in scholarships last year.  Please make sure your family member gets a chance to benefit from this.

There are three scholarship types considered by the Board:

Type I - Graduating High School Seniors or Equivalent

Type II - Currently enrolled in College with non-Solid Waste Management focus

Type III - Currently enrolled in College with Solid Waste Management focus

To be eligible for a scholarship applicant must meet the requirements of 1 or 2 below:

1.  Must be the son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a SWANA member in good standing at time of the recommendation, the selection, and award.

A.  A graduating high school senior or graduate equivalent certified candidate, who has been accepted for enrollment in a junior college, four-year college or university,

B.  A currently enrolled full-time college or university student.

2.  A currently enrolled full-time college or university student who is also a Student Member of SWANA prior to the application submission deadline.

Scholarship applications for 2020 are now available by clicking here: 2019 Scholarship Application.  Applications are due May 1 of the current year.

TxSWANA may submit winning applications to SWANA National for potential scholarship awards.
